Spitfire Kentish Ale

Post by DRT »

As some of you already know I normally drink girls beer, otherwise known as lager. Tonight, being bored of sitting in my hotel, I have decided to visit a few pubs in covent garden to sample some warm brown stuff.

1st up is Spitfire. A strange cheesy smell. Very brown, like a 20 year old tawny. Bitter, flat as a pancake and tastes like old pennies.

Not a good start.

As a real ale drinker I agree about Spitfire...but it is like drinking a cheap and nasty Ruby and deciding that port is not for you! Try the Deuchars IPA in the Roundhouse just west of Covent Garden, this is light refreshing beer which girls (lager drinkers) seem to like. :D

Deuchars IPA! Pale, citrus, fine Scottish ale.
