For the beer lovers under us, I recently heard about a beer that seems to have more similarities with port then with beer
- It ages a minimum of 2 years on oak barrels.
- It has a red colour which over time becomes browner.
- The older it is, the more port/madeira tastes are recognised.
- Although you can only buy them with an age of about 6 years, the actual brewery has beers in stock from the early sixties that are still drinkable.
for the interested, it is called Rodenbach Grand Cru.

Beer with a port taste !?!?
Re: Beer with a port taste !?!?
The Sam Adams Utopia, if you are lucky enough to get one, is very port like with a 27 Percent ABV and oak aged. It is very tasty and quite spendy. Avery Sameal is also quite good for this style, though it only punches in at 17 percent ABV.

I've never had Utopia, but one of these days I would love to try a glass of it and see what it's all about.
