Anything but Port, this includes all wines other than fortified wines (which have their own section) even if they call themselves Port. There is a search facility for this part of the forum.

2003 Morgenhof Cape Vintage

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Touriga Nacional single varietal, 18% alcohol. Decanted off only a little fine sediment. Deep red colour, opaque centre. Muted on the nose, a little dusty blackcurrant cordial, flowers and some black chocolate. On the palate this shows lots of dust, parma violets and soft blackcurrant. The tannins are very finely grained and combine to give a light-weight palate. A touch of heat shows on theaftertaste, then a long sweet finish of brambles and black chocolate. 86/100. Drunk 25-Mar-15.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
