Anything but Port, this includes all wines other than fortified wines (which have their own section) even if they call themselves Port. There is a search facility for this part of the forum.

2012 Quinta do Vesuvio

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Bottled in April 2014. Deeply coloured, purple and opaque. Gentle nose showing little other than some sharp and acidic fruit. Fruity entry, but the acidity leads and dominates the mid-palate, making the overall palate out of balance and requires work and patience to bring back into balance. Tannins dominate the aftertaste, which is very big and powerful. This is one to follow over the next few years to see how it matures and evolves. 89/100. Drunk 24-Feb-15.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
