2011 Altano Quinta do Ataide Reserva
Deep red with hints of purple, opaque core. Deep but restrained nose, with some acidic red cherries just showing; poised and attractive. Rich palate with rounded tannins giving a good structure to the deep cherry fruit. The palate has a lovely presence and texture although there is not too much complexity. The fruit led aftertaste precedes a good finish. A step up from the 2004 Reserva and with good cellar potential. 86/100. Dunk 24-Feb-15.
