2004 Altano Reserva

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Deep red centre, slightly less than opaque. A little modest bricking on the rim. Mature nose of farmyards, red fruit and golden syrup. The farmyard flavours lead on the entry and are accompanied by high levels of acidity. The fruit is now mature and the tannins soft, giving a nice overall balance. A woody finish and good length. This is pleasant but fairly lightweight, too thin and light to be a great wine but absolutely nothing wrong with it. 83/100. Drunk 24-Feb-15.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
