Anything but Port, this includes all wines other than fortified wines (which have their own section) even if they call themselves Port. There is a search facility for this part of the forum.

1985 Pine Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Youthful appearance, still a touch of purple in the colouration. Charcoal and lavendar on the nose - could this be Touriga Nacional? Fruity and quite young, but not early youth as the colour might lead you to expect. Soft and gentle tannins at first with great levels of fruit and a modest chewy palate. The texture and palate runs through the aftertaste and long, sweet fruit and charcoal finish. Served blind this was guessed to be the 2005 Marie Therese from Crasto. 93/100. Drunk 10-Apr-15 as part of the Doty Cup.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
