Anything but Port, this includes all wines other than fortified wines (which have their own section) even if they call themselves Port. There is a search facility for this part of the forum.

1985 Krug blanc de blanc

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Mature Champagne from the appearance, a pale, gentle gold colour. Gentle concentration on the nose, but a touch smelly. Mature, rich and with plenty of bottle age on the palate; some dryness but good acidity. There is a cleansing dose of acidity on the aftertaste before a lemon and grapefruit finish takes over and lasts well. Served blind this was guessed to be Pol Roger 1980. 89/100. Drunk 10-Apr-15 as part of the Doty Cup.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
