1993 Royal Tokaji Wine Company 5 Putts
This is the entry level blue label from RTWC. I bought a case of six on release for £12 and have had it cellared since then, watching it slowly change from a pale straw colour to the deep amber which it was when opened yesterday. Wonderfully scented, rich and fruity on the nose. Intensely sweet on the palate with the botrytised Semillion grapes really showing through. Balanced well by powerful acidity, this is a lovely wine; intense, rich and fully flavoured yet acidic enough not to be cloying. I love this wine, a good alternative to port when I want something different. 92/100.
