Bottled 2002.
Mid chestnut colour, mainly brown with some deep pinkishness in the core.
Rich nose - warm and earthy, notes of chocolate covered fruits, some rich buttery nuttiness.
Light bodied, entering with stone fruits, figs and dates, a very small and acceptable amount of varnish mid to late. A little heat in the finish but really only a little. Great juiciness in the finish also, and great length, some notes of orange and tangerine lingering long. Very good, delightfully fresh, and now, alas, like the place du Carrousel, it is all gone, and we are ridiculous swans left flapping around on dry land.
