2005 Pichon Baron

Post by DRT »

Yes, infanticide, I know...

100% opaque. Lemon zest on the nose! Big and full in the mouth with a punch of tannin on entry which then evolves into big round black fruits. Exceptionally smooth an silky on the palate. The finish is very long and very, very dry.

Is this what blockbuster claret tastes like at 9 years old? If so, I like it :D

You lucky devil, on a rainy Wednesday night too. If you've got a box of them now is not a bad time to try one. The difficulty comes of course in leaving the next one alone for another five years.

Unfortunately this was the only one I had, but it has impressed me enough to make me consider buying a box when bonus time comes.

It is twelve months to the day since Mrs T became Mrs T, so I think I deserve to spoil myself

Thank you.

I am pleased to report that Balvenie 21 Year Old Port Wood Finish is utterly fabulous.
