£11.95 from The Wine Society
Note taken after 5 hours. Ripe, meaty, leathery and smoky in the nose. Tobacco, cigar ash as well. Redcurrants in the mouth, bursting open. Lean and taut mid-palate. Very dry. Not as beefy as the nose. A very big dry finish but perhaps a little hollow. It has the fruit and the acid but it never really 'lands' on the palate. Still very delicious, I just would like more body.
