2011 Wegeler Geheimrat "J" Spätlese Trocken

Post by djewesbury »

A wine that is harvested with the extra ripeness of a Spätlese grade but still with the low residual sugar of a Trocken.

Fruity nose: apricot, nectarine. The mouth is full and complex, with some vegetality. The dryness is at the front, the fruit playing about and making a lively mouthfeel. A slightly funky taste mid-palate. Something uncooked at the end and a finish of green vegetables. A strange and unintegrated wine.

I noted this in my little black book: "great nose, smells of peach and minerality, good body".
