Drunk at the Lothar Kettern winery with winemaker Philipp Kettern on the 13th August 2014. We visited at the recommendation of Dirk Niepoort.
This wine is made in collaboration with Niepoort. Grapes from a 380m-high vineyard are aged in wood. Buttery blossom nose. A balanced fruitiness, sweetness from the fruit is allowed to express itself through a really pleasant, lemony structure; not hard but very, very fine. A toasty, autolytic dryness, rather bready. Very pleasant.
