Drunk at the Wegeler winery in Bernkastel with Norbert Breit on 12th August 2014.
The off-dry wine in Wegeler's Mosel 'village wine' ('Ortswein' or Premier Cru) range, in the middle of the VDP's 'quality pyramid' between the village wines ('Gutsweine') and the Grand Crus.
The sweetness in this is really kept in check by acidity, there is a subtle herbal bitterness. An interesting wine with complexity and depth. I enjoyed this.
