Drunk at the Haag winery with Oliver Haag on 12th August 2014.
The Kabinett in Haag's 'village wine' ('Ortswein' or Premier Cru) range, in the middle of the VDP's 'quality pyramid' between the estate wines ('Gutsweine') and the Grand Crus. Picked when the grapes are fully ripe but not as ripe as for a Spätlese.
Nose of melon and gooseberry. Mouth is salty, lightly tangy, with a gentle smack. A simple but very clean wine.
