2013 Fritz Haag Riesling Feinherb

Post by djewesbury »

Drunk at the Haag winery with Oliver Haag on 12th August 2014.

The off-dry wine in Haag's 'estate wine' ('Gutswein') range, at the bottom of the VDP's 'quality pyramid' below the village wines ('Ortsweine') and the Grand Crus. This is certainly still dry but it's more fruity than the Trockens, and less puckeringly crisp.

I found this in my little black book: "a fat body and too sweet". This would have been more balanced with more acidity or less residual sugar.
