From some recently purchased rieslings, this bottle had a very unusual neck and unusual enclosure which I thought worthy of posting.
The neck had a series of long thin facets/flutes all the way around, with a pair of rims near the top, and appeared to have an odd cap.

On removing the plastic cap, this turned out to be only a cover, with a glass stopper underneath.

The stopper had a rubber seal, as well as being marked with the maker.
This is the only bottle I've seen with a glass stopper, and with an unusual neck design. Perhaps most importantly, the wine was also very good, though I don't have my tasting note with me; I'll add that later.

I've noticed Vollrads had moved to the glass closure on their more affordable bottles. Their higher end stuff isn't available locally, so I can't say if they did so across their range.
I've never had a bad bottle sealed this way, and the handful of Finger Lakes Pinots and Rieslings I've aged over the short term (up to 5 years) have all shown nicely, so I don't mind them at all. In fact, they often make it easier to recap a bottle and put it in the fridge without having an extra inch or two of cork to contend with to squeeze it onto a shelf. A double win!

We had a similar discussion before:

They're calld Vinolok: http://vinolok.cz/en/home/
August Eser use a similar shaped bottle for one of their wines:

So a shape like this might be fashionable in the Rheingau with some wineries.
I'm glad you liked it. I'm looking forward to hear how you liked the rest of your order.
