An oddity, which I found in a bookshop at £9.50 per half bottle. South African port, made from port varieties with all the trimmings this is the most passable facsimile I have come across. It has the beginnings of some sludge at the bottom and so clearly has not been tormented too much in the winery. Very fruity, it has the taste of the Portuguese shippers, nothing weird on the palate (which is the most common problem I find in port lookey-likeys). Excellent richness and length. It has a distinctive but familiar taste, it also seems like a work in progress. I am sure it would keep. I feel like thoroughly recommending it just to get someone else to give it a whirl and check I am not fooling myself.
