Anything but Port, this includes all wines other than fortified wines (which have their own section) even if they call themselves Port. There is a search facility for this part of the forum.

1900 Chateau du Rayne Vioneau Vicomte de Pontac

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

Polished dark brown colour with a yellow rim. A wonderful nose of beeswax and mandarin. Smooth on the palate with gentle flavours mixing fruit and polish. The gentle acidity keeps the balance well and support lovely development on the palate. A great flush of flavours comes through on the aftertaste before a very big, very long finish. 90/100. Drunk 16-Dec-15. Decanted 1 hour.

Drunk at Lunch at Otto's on Wednesday 16 December 2015.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
