Great to catch up with everyone last night, and to host Julian's guest Boris, for his first port tasting. A very good showing all round from the ports on offer. A number of us were convinced that we had the same port in a couple of glasses, but that proved not to be the case! Quite a few did however bear remarkable similarities. Only one '77 as it turned out, and the '70s yet again proved what a consistent and strong year this was. Any of these ports would have been highly satisfying on their own.

Echo Mike-a wonderful relaxed evening in great company and with some beautifully colored and clean tasting Ports. There may have only been one 77 but I believe I made it made it my WOTN (no doubt someone will reaffirm) despite strong competition and the presence of the F70. Particularly pleased with the showing of the SW70 (Wine Society bottling) that I brought (decanted at 6.45am) which was still wonderfully dark in colour.

Thanks to Tony for bringing the still unknown 33 which had some life left in it yet. Service and Food at the B&F up to its usual high standards.

Look forward to doing it all again in short order :D

Because there were only two possible years, guessing the shipper got two points, guessing the vintage only one.

Splendid evening. Good ports, good company: just what it said on the tin.

Thank you to Mike for suggesting, for arranging, for making the placemats, for printing them, and for allowing my guest to adopt a bottle. Doff hat.
