If I were to be able to make this, I would bring a G55. Would that be an acceptable bottle?

I'm sure that G55 would be met with royal approval.

The stars have aligned and I'm in the country on this date.

Please may I be added to the list or the appropriate place in the queue for the list?

Sadly it looks like I can no longer make this. Something might shift and make it possible again nearer the time, but right now it is not possible. Stick me on the reserves and if things change then I can advise.

To whom should I send my G55? Now would seem like a good time to send it to make sure it has time to rest.

It is raining and cold here. I think the weather can be expected to fluctuate somewhat for the next few weeks. Cold here may be hot there and vice versa. Time is of the essence.

Time is not of the essence. Whole-journey cool is of the essence.

I appreciate your concerns but genuinely feel that if we wait for a window when it is forecast to be suitably cool, over three days*, in all parts of Her Germanic Majesty's wonderful queendom, we will be waiting a while. And who knows, we may get it wrong.

Can we solicit other opinions? I really do not want to be left bringing this with me - although we drank wonderful 1955s last June that had travelled but a couple of days before.

Perhaps DJ could send the bottle from cold wet NI to cold wet Edinburgh and I could collect it from my mother en route home from even colder and wetter Isle of Skye?

Oh God please don't say it's going to Derek's holiday home on the bleak and empty Isle of Skye!

That's a relief. It may survive its journey.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
