Alot of uncertainty for my reservation at the Palm,

I left a message with the general manager and the bartender a few days ago and they both seem to be on holiday so I haven't gotten any confirmation yet.

Looks like we'd have to play this one by ear, I'll post as soon as I get more info.

Should we ask Julian to make a reservation at Citron? I liked the atmosphere and food.

It's a 25$/bottle corkage otherwise.

Because I didn't get any call back from the bartender nor the GM. I can't promise a non corkage situation.

Let me actually run into the restaurant on wednesday and just ask in person.

A reasonable request but I am currently under water and cannot find the time to master another computer skill.

I can print out the placemats.

On Monday I opened up the notoriously problematic Moreira 1966 to give it some time to air out, as suggested by Andy. The others I will open the night before, unless anyone suggests otherwise.

I just realized that an important thing to note with the colheitas is the bottling date, since that determines the degree of wood aging vs. time in the bottle. So here's the information:

Dalva 1952 Golden White Colheita, Bottled 2006
Feist 1963 Colheita, Bottled 2000
Moreira 1966 Colheita, Bottled 2000
Delaforce 1979 Colheita, Bottled 2005
Andresen 1980 Colheita, Bottled 2003
Smith Woodhouse 1986 Colheita, Bottled 2004

Really sorry for the last-minute notice, some work came up that I have to attend to today and tomorrow, so won't be able to make it. Apologise for any inconvenience ... enjoy the port and the juicy Palm steaks!

Steph unfortunately dropped out too due to a very bad cold.

It looks like it'll be us four guys tonight.

Six bottles for four of us? I, for one, cannot handle that much port, although I would love to taste all six. I assume that Eric is bringing bottles so some of this is going home, unless the three of you are willing to drink all of it.

Four extra pages added to the placemats: Eric, if you get a chance, add them to the printing. (They’ll be taken away again if we’re refused.)
