All, my apologies as due to other committments I won't be able to attend the B&F tomorrow and the fact that I am smothered in cold makes this probably for the best-for all!

A great shame. We will see you in 2015. Get well soon.

AHB - are you coming? Are you ordering a Ck63? Do you want it decanted in advance?

Probably - 80% certainty

I plan to

Let me decide nearer the time when I can be more certain that I won't buy a bottle of Ck63 only to be told by others how nice it was

80% is good! Up 30% on yesterday and only a little more work to do to bring it to a statistical certainty.

I have. Having the paperwork with me gives me an incentive to attend, even if I am not able to stay (for very long).

What time will someone first arrive at B&F?

Actually an improvement from 50% probability to 80% is an increased likelihood of 80%… isn't it..?

I have no idea. I'm an accountant, not a mathematician/statistician.

All I know is that I've progressed from hopeful to really hopeful.

Is the plan to eat at the B&F tonight?

Yes, I think so.
I have ordered two bottles to be decanted in advance. The O70 has become O77 unfortunately, as the former is sold out. They offered D70 but as we have that already I thought we should try the 77. A risk, I know, but let's take it. The Ch94 is not a problem. Both will be decanted in advance, the O77 a little later than the Ch94.
I asked about corkage and was told that given our spend already there would be no charge for opening Derek's bottle. Very generous.
I'm sorry, I should have checked that the Ck63 is in stock but I had a number of things to ask / check / pay for and this slipped my mind.

I have a request. A certain someone has decided to show up tonight for a 'taste', and then he says he's leaving after 20 minutes. He just wants a taste.

My request is, could you all set a timer for 20 minutes the moment he steps foot in the door please? I don't believe he's only staying for 20 minutes. In fact, I told him, "just be realistic and stay for an hour, and don't drink."

Please, gentlemen, support Julian so that he can have a good night's sleep and wake up ready, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed for his meeting!

Thank you.

The rest of you, enjoy.

This is clearly a heartfelt request but places us in an invidious position: policing one of our own number, not a duty we are familiar with.
I nominate Derek to be cop.

Question: would I relish the opportunity to stand on my soap box and tell Julian how he should be behaving?

Answer: Of course I would.

You have a volunteer.

I will be there at 18:30.

Feel free, but {bottles bought from B&F} should be > {bottles brought to B&F} I think, given their generosity.

No! Julian said he's only having a little taste!

Thank you for stepping up, Derek! In all honestly though, I have to admit that I was calling JDAW's bluff. I just don't believe he'll stay for a short while. He loves you guys too much!

I corrected my typo. Let's not bring more than we buy from them.
I'm here. It's lovely. I didn't realise it was opposite the old Crossbones Burial Ground, a very melancholy place. Rooms downstairs:ImageImage

Above my head an empty W70. They have made our table for 4 into a table for 6. They are being extremely accommodating.

At least one oxymoron, if not two (oxymora?), surely?
