Only THRA hasn’t specified food. What does he usually have?

THRA usually has soup, fillet steak (medium) and prefers new potatoes to fries. IIRC.

Thank you. Sauce with steak? And there aren’t new potatoes on the menu — help!

No sauce. Request new potatoes and if not available accept triple cooked fries.

Please could I also order some salted marcona almonds? Enough for all if all would like some.

They will remind me of warm sunny days, on a terrace overlooking a river.

I was thinking of decanting at home, circa 09:30, the RP97, RP94 and RPE94. Tom will doubtless bring decanted the RP91 and RP80. His RP24 will happen last moment, with the RP09 and RP31.

That leaves 1960, 1964, 1970, 1982, 1983 […] and 1985. I can decant those six[…] alone, but will want help with pre-18:00 pre-pouring of nine[…] (i.e., all except ’91, ’80, ’31, ’24, ’09). So I arrive 3pm, you a mite before 4pm? Does that seem sensible?

Comment, anybody?
Proposed decanting times are:
• ≈ 09:30 for RP97, RP94 and RPE94;
• ≈ 13:00 for RP85, RP83, RP82 (if the RP83 seems good I’ll leave the spare ’83 at home, if not the spare will be decanted);
• ≥ 15:00 for RP70, RP64 and RP60 (in that order).
• ≈ 18:00 for RP31, RP24, RP09.
• Whenever Tom does them for RP91 and RP80.

Comment, anybody?

I would not have a problem with the times as stated, though if it were practicable I would probably push back the 13:00 to ~11:00 and the 15:00 to 13:00.

Is there any current plan for red wine over dinner? If not, should there be (rather than ordering at greater expense from the list on the day)?

The organiser — me — has been remiss in this department.

Just noticed that my request for triple-cooked chips (rather than fries) looks to have been missed off on your pdf of orders, if there is still the opportunity to correct it.

Addenda - also just noticed: "Axel, Daniel, Phil Rump 200g (1×rare; 1×medium-rare Bearnaise sauce; 1×????)"; not sure about your order of names/food - if the ???? refers to me, my request was for medium-rare with Béarnaise & triple-cooked chips, just to be clear.

I wish JDAW was our representative at the UN. He has skills of diplomacy, gentle circumlocution and reservoirs of tact that many could learn from.

The seven I have so far decanted (above and RP64) all seem very promising.

The 64 is special since Joao told me that he never had this before and it is exactly 50 years of age. This is my second and last bottle. The first was consumed in June at rhe Niepoort cellar with many of tonights attendees.
