For anyone in London with nothing else to do at 18:00 tomorrow (Wed 25 Sep) please be aware that AHB and I are meeting for dinner and port at The Crusting Pipe and will hopefully be joined by Chrisopher Gee around 20:30 for more port.
Anyone who wants to join us and buy/bring more port is most welcome

We tasted the Graham 1983, a Skeffington 1994 (surprisingly good), a Niepoort 2005 and an unknown shipper from an unknown vintage that we estimate was from between the wars.
Tasting notes on the first three will follow tomorrow. Impressions of the last will also be added but there wasn't really enough to write a tasting note.
When I left to catch my train, both Christopher and Derek were wide awake.

Normally Im not jeallous not living in London, but...
Alex,
these are the events I would like to participate, but that might be a little bit too far to drive.
I asked a guy at Taylors about the Fonseca Crusted Port (the restaurant's name reminded me on that). He said, that there was a private bottling for a british merchant (about 10.000 btls ca.) and they are not for sale anywhere he knows about. My advice is: grab any bottle you can get in the UK.
Axel
(definitely jealous, not to have been there)
