For me this surpasses even the Olympic event as a picture.jdaw1 wrote:Updated draft of the placemats.Edit: the pre-pour sheets are in a non-obvious order. Hmm: that’s not easy to fix. So, this time at least, tough.

A Cockburn vertical in 2008 also had good placemats:griff wrote:For me this surpasses even the Olympic event as a picture.
Re: Tuesday 13 November - a smattering of Graham and Malvedo
In quantity certainly but perhaps not in quality. I have a preference for the Graham placemats due to both the variety of bottlings shown as well as the more innovative use of the second sheet.

I wasn't there, but the photos do make me slightly nostalgic about that tunnel at TCP! (even with the damp-stained walls...)jdaw1 wrote:A Cockburn vertical in 2008 also had good placematsgriff wrote:For me this surpasses even the Olympic event as a picture.

Fonseca Guimaraens, and some Fonseca, Mon 04 April 2011:
The formatting of the Graham’s placemats echo that of the Guimaraens.

Perhaps the best A3 of vintages we have ever had. (Plus Ck70 and Ck77 from the page that followed)
Should we do it again?

I just showed the Somelier at my hotel what I will be drinking tomorrow evening. He almost fell over.
I am very much looking forward to this tasting.

Did you explain that you would be helped? Or did he think that you would be drinking all 17¼ litres yourself. (He is the sommelier at your hotel he has probably seen you in action before.)

I have just made a late decision to stay in London tomorrow night. See you all at about 7pm.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.
2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

• The layout on the A3 glasses pages was unusual. The problem was a shortage of table space. We just didn’t have room for 2×A3 each, but the 22 glasses wouldn’t quite fit on 1×A3 + 1×A4. So two A3s were to be used, the right one to be trimmed and the whole held together with double-sided sticky tape. That meant !
Re: Tuesday 13 November - a smattering of Graham and Malvedo
Is that because you divided 23 by 14 and realised this could be some task (even allowing for a couple of duffers), or because you now need to be on parade on Wednesday morning...?AHB wrote:I have just made a late decision to stay in London tomorrow night. See you all at about 7pm.

23/14 rounded down is 1 bottle per person. Anyone who has been in training shouldn't have a problem with that.RAYC wrote:Is that because you divided 23 by 14 and realised this could be some task (even allowing for a couple of duffers), or because you now need to be on parade on Wednesday morning...?AHB wrote:I have just made a late decision to stay in London tomorrow night. 77 decanted at 9pm last night in case I forget. The hue is darker than I remember.

If you can (and you remember), please bring cork!

The placemats are a thing of beauty and joy... I am impressed! My two bottles of mystery port and I have arrived safely in London - I assume we will be tasting those off-piste? Or if you choose not to open them tonight someone can put them in a cellar somewhere for another occasion. See you tonight!
Re: Tuesday 13 November - a smattering of Graham and Malvedo
Please may I add that to the placemat manual page?Cynthia J wrote:The placemats are a thing of beauty and joy
