What happened to Warre?
Seems like we can do at least W58, W60, W66, W70, W77. Anyone have the 63?
That'd be my vote.
Or maybe a 1980 VP tasting.
Thoughts?

Re: Friday October 28th - NY: Zelandakh visits
Doing a Taylor smattering, or a Taylor LBV 1-per-decade is interesting, but I agree that we may want to try something more defined. I have a lot of Warre, less of 80:Chris Doty wrote:What happened to Warre?

W: 63*, 70, 77, 83, 85, 94, 97 etc. Missing: 60, 66, 75, 80, 91.
* Some of these W63s are in dismal condition, but i think i've one that's still red.
80: T***, F***, D**, G, Burmester, Gould Campbell (good stuff, btw)
** We just had this at the Dow tasting, deemed it too young
*** Only 1 ea, acquired to support an F or T vertical in the future.

Yeah -- Warre seems to be the no brainer to me. I have a '66, and I'm sure we could find any of the others that we really would feel we're missing.
Re: Friday October 28th - NY: Zelandakh visits
OK, so shall we settle on Warre's as a theme then?
I'd like to adopt a bottle please and for simplicity would also like to ask for a second bottle for adoption by my brother. I will ask the ladies whether they are planning on attending with red wine or partaking - how many bottles are you planning on bringing for execution?
Also, are we up to an 8 ball?

Looks like we're a maximum of 7 and yet the table is booked for 8. Do we have a mystery attendee?

Not sure what the total # was, g-man or Chris may have known of someone else joining.Zelandakh wrote:OK, so shall we settle on Warre's as a theme then?

I was chatting with g-man and it sounds like we were leaning more toward the LBV+70's approach, rather than the warre's vertical. We'll settle on a theme soon I'm sure. Once we get there, we can arrange any necessary adoptions.

OK, so next steps are the theme - will be decided by the local members and what is in their cellar.
I would like to adopt as would my brother and would my GF.
Babysitter has now fallen through so my sis in law isn't now coming - sorry about that.
Q:
What about glasses - are they provided by the venue or "us"?
Is a taxi at 22.30 a good plan? Need to get it booked you see.
Many thanks,
Nick

My GF (terry) is free to attend (which I think means we're back to 8).
Happy to support the LBV + 70s theme.

Perfect - 2 ladies in the group sounds good.
Sounds like we are nearly there, need to confirm a theme then look at adopting options.

Re: Friday October 28th - NY: Zelandakh visits
gman thread on ws has date as october 29th, I am able to attend on Friday the 28th but not Saturday the 29th. I am assumng the info on tpf is accurate. I can get to restaurant early (I can bring my glasses or I can go to your house prior to pick up your glasses).
I can give the placemats/tasting sheets a try if pointed in the right direction...

Re: Friday October 28th - NY: Zelandakh visits
The thread ran off without me knowing... guess i must have missed a notification email.
1) Yes, I can bring glasses.
2) Yes, I will make placemats
3) I am bringing SWC77 + SWC 84 LBV. If someone would like to adopt half of each, that would work out nicely.
