Ok -- a few things:

1) If we have an additional bottle of 1970VP on hand (the cockburn), is there no interest in arranging a group buy-in to expand the scope of our analysis? I'd certainly be keen, as would Greg and Terry

2) Sushi - it seems I will need to adopt one of your bottles. Please PM me details

3) Jdaw - given your fierce attention to detail, I'd say that draft of placemats was quite respectable, no?

Getting awfully thirsty over here!

Just based on a quick count, it would seem that only if I bring the Cockburn will we have 6 people and 6 bottles. I'll report back shortly on the final arrangements for this.

And if Sarabeth's has wifi we expect to Skyped in by webcam so that we can watch the tasting and vote for the F70 to be the wine of the night.

All while I am sipping on an English Late Harvest 2002 dessert wine :?

• Delete the multiple redundant copies ‟Vintage Port”.
• Rename the extra person to blank ‟()” rather than XX.
•Â If having placenames, consider the merits of using names ‟Josh S.” rather than ‟JES”.
• Consider using the non-US brand name ‟Taylor” rather than the US version, to which an extra space was added, ‟Taylor Fladgate ”.
Vintage Port removed.
XX was because I couldn't remember Terry & Gregs' names when editing.
Switched from initials (I think that's what you used to use, btw :) )
Changed Taylor Fladgate to Taylor in the subtitle as it improved readability, retained it in the circle. This is a US tasting :)

BTW, i had to look up the possessives for each of the names; it was terribly hard to find pictures of old Taylor labels. We should really have an index of that somewhere (which houses use an apostrophe S on their label and which do not).

With placename sheets (e.g. below), I use names. Without, initials. This technology post-dates my departure from New York.

Varies so much that I use non-possessive.

All of these ports probably need 3-4 hours decant time. However, as that may be hard to give them, I am recommending we pop-and-pour. I am going to rinse some empties right now to facilitate that, in case Sarabeth's has insufficient decanters. My goal is to arrive around 6 and get to work setting up and decanting, if they'll let me.

We are now 6, btw, should they be informed of that? Best setup will be sitting across from each other (trying to put a chair at either end of a 4-top will make things tight).
