Recently acquired a case of Noval 1985. Think the time has come for the first bottle to be sacrificed on the altar of the vinous gods.

Samples should be arriving from today. When they arrive, please pop them in the fridge until Tuesday and remove shortly before we get together. They should be tasted at about 14-16C.

Mine has just arrived too - safe, sound and in the fridge.

Looks like this could be a relatively simple thing to replicate...

To enable replication I have been waiting for Ampulla to reopen their online shop which has now happened. All, are these the most appropriate containers for samples?

My sample labelled Noval National 1963 has arrived safely too thank you. The fun of not being blind is more than negates by the chance of such fine Port. Doffs hat in thanks.

Just spotted that your post earned you the somewhat ephemeral rank of "Cruz Tawny". Well done!

And my ‘devil’ post too! Someone obviously thought “Cruz Tawny” was evil when establishing the list.

I’m concerned my sample is being baked in a warehouse somewhere in southwest England... Fingers crossed for its safe arrival!

JDAW and IDJ have also confirmed the safe arrival of their samples. That’s 8 of 18 (including the one I kept for myself) delivered.

There arrived yesterday my Port, labelled “Dow 1878”. Fantastic, thank you. Looking very dark for its age, perhaps reminiscent of the Mk55. Please do send a picture of the cork and bottle.
