Warre's unfiltered lbv

Post by Constandia »

Drunk and disorderly at the BFT decided we should plan a warre's LBV vertical because I just love them.

I think I have the 2003, 2004 and 2007 like everyone else no doubt... in the off chance I can make it I have those. Wonderful idea though.

Me too! I have a reasonable selection of these. 1981, 1982 and 2003 certainly. At least a couple of others too.

Sounds a great idea - I have 2000, 2001 & 2002 not listed above.

I really hope I can make it (I work abroad more than half the year), if I cannot then I am very happy to put the bottles up for adoption should they be needed.

I've got 2004. Ioana would be keen as well. Might up for adoption of something.

They are lovely. I like this idea. I don't have any older ones though, can only replicate the 2000, 01, 02, 03 and 04 already offered.

Great idea. Have always enjoyed the older Warre LBVs which I’ve tasted. I think I have something in storage - will need to check.

If there's any interest in doing a double vertical, Luís Sottomayor gave me a set of bottles from the LBV masterclass he delivered at the BFT yesterday with the instruction to share them with the folks on The Port Forum.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.

Sounds like an excellent idea - and generous of Luis.

Sounds a great idea! It will fit nicely with the theme and we can compare and contrast :)

It's great that so many of you are up for this. I'll have a look on my diary and suggest possible dates this weekend.

That would be interesting but we might need to do a limited comparison as to do otherwise would deny us the option to see how these evolve in the way the Warre 1981/1982 have. ( IIRC the Sandeman LBV started at 2000. ) Unless we can source some earlier ones from team TPF!

You are quite right, the Sandeman masterclass started at 2000 and got younger. I have some 2011 Sandeman LBV but nothing else.
