Mon 13 August: Emergency

Post by jdaw1 »

The Boss has told me that the website for the book needs some really good pictures of a tasting. Fine Port being drunk by Fine Men, with a Debonaire Intensity appropriate to the King of Wines (maybe she didn’t quite say all that, but near enough), as photographed by friend-of-HI professional photographer. “So that the audience can see the passion and the culture, so that they experience being there. It’s a passion, a sport, a brotherhood.”

When, ≥ Mon 13th August, might work for the team?

There is no requirement that there be only one date.

† I officially don’t understand the modern world. But at least I know that I don’t know.

Mon 13th August having been chosen, there is a draft of the placemats.

That week works for me and as the week of the glorious twelfth I'm happy to adorn full tweed hunting regalia ( avec glass or stirrup cup of Port in hand) for the photo shoot for next month's Horse and Hound. Sorry, forgive me, a touch of heat stroke for which Port will be a good cure!

I will seek permission. Do you need a professional photographer to attend the evening (and take up a seat as my guest, if he's available and if I'm given permission)?

I am hoping at this stage that I can attend on Monday. Is there a theme?

As we appear to have a quorum, and JDAW has been unusually quiet I have taken the liberty and booked the red room for Monday 13th :D

Who is in the quorum? What is the theme? Will I need to adopt? I think we should be told.

I haven’t been Sussex recently. Please, can anybody help me?

I’ll make placemats on Sunday. Assuming blind.

I will attend, with a professional photographer who will probably not be able to stay later than about 7-7.30pm (so not staying for Port or food).

Most of you will have met the photographer — it's Guy who did the camera work at the BFT for me.
