Very interesting with two blended bottles the same evening! I did't know that Averys 1963 was a blend. I presume you all know that Harvey's 1962 is a blend of Cockburn and Martinez.

It would be fabulous to have the Sandeman 1963 at the same time if that is possible! Having the components of Harvey's would be quite impossible i'm afraid.

Sign-up has now closed with 14 persons present.

Instructions to join:
Address: 128 Picadilly (right across Green Park). Hodges room. Since this is a military club, there are certain rules: You do not need to wear a tie as we have a private function, but without a tie you cannot move everywhere in the club. Please bring 7 proper Port glasses as we group the Ports into two flights. You will be responsible for decanting your bottle. If you like to drop the bottle off prior, please let me know and I will arrange this.

Menue will be:

Cream of leek & potato
Steak kidney and mushroom pie or pudding
Traditional roast potatoes
Selection of vegetables
Sherry trifle
Coffee and petits fours

Please advise if anyone has dietary requirements.

I will collect 70 GBP from everyone.

I have but one bottle of S63 which I believe to be in good condition and so in the absence of anyone with a bigger population of S63 volunteering then I would be prepared to bring this.

Yes we are both attending but these were options from my cellar. Sten will select from his cellar. I will bring Feist as this is rare in the UK as far as I understand.

Alex B. was born in 1963, and has tasted many (many!) 1963s. He might never had had the Fs63. Please could it be saved for an evening which he could attend? (Or, if you have enough of them, would you be willing to sell one for me to give him?)

He hasn’t, or had not last time I attended your tastings and I have reserved one bottle for him.

You currently have me bringing the Av63 which is not correct; it's Wolfgang S bringing the Av63, with myself bringing a T63 (one of the components) - unless Ian has a T63 (I need to make sure I can find mine!) in which case I have another alternative.

Draft of the placemats added to first post. Some Ports not yet revealed. Some initials unknown. Work to be done.

Thanks, Julian, once I have the data of all Ports, I will group them into two flights and ask you to adjust the placemats.

Please confirm that we have 2×S63. (I’m not objecting, merely seeking confirmation.)

And please could somebody check the placemats.

The thirteen bottles look correct to me. I couldn’t quite tell if Axel’s post here was suggesting that a bottle was being brought on behalf of the industry guest, in which case there is a bottle missing. And will the guest take the blank placemat?
