Do you mean this differentdave (who expressed interest here)? Please have him sign up to TPF, say hello, introduce himself, and reveal his initials.

Graham?

Post by jfacciol »

What about taking Eric up on his offer of a Graham and withdrawing either the Ferreira or the Delaforce?

I, of course, vote for this change.

If port wasn't considered a big red,

I'm giving up drinking! =)

Why the Graham rather than the Warres?

Actually, I genuinely meant that as a question :)
I have one bottle of Warre77 stashed away, and while I'm curious to get a peak at how those are tasting, I also realize that I haven't any Grahams til 2000 so it would be equally fun to see how they age.

As a general matter, I prefer Graham to Warre. In addition, having the Graham will allow Eric to bring one of his bottles.

29 March 2008: Warre or Graham?

I would most likely adopt a bottle, as it looks like we've got the lineup covered, although I could contribute a Graham or a Warre.

I too prefer the graham's over the warres.

I remember the warre's not having as much finesse as the graham's.

James Suckling on spectator has the warres rated better though.

Well then, it sounds like I'm going to get to see the Graham's side of things :)

Apparently Dovetail is getting a lot of press, it's appeared two weeks in a row with writeups in TimeOut NY, and the latest one cited it has received several 3 star ratings, including from the NYT (which is a big deal). Apparently they are swamped. Do we have a reservation there, yet? And for what time?

I ask the second question because something obligatory in westchester just appeared on the calendar for that afternoon, and I need to start calculating how to get to both it and the offline.

I’m away, so don’t have with me any notes other than what is in this thread and on the placemats. Reservation was, IIRC, 7pm.

Saturday 29th March 2008

Post by jdaw1 »

Just called Dovetail, partly because I couldn’t recall the start time, but also to confirm. A quarter past six, 18:15 in that which the locals call Military Time, though Gladstone would have written 6¼pm, Saturday 29th March 2008, on table 60, at Dovetail, 103 West 77th Street, on the north-west corner of the intersection with Columbus.

Jay: should we each bring a box of glasses?
