A big thank you to Charles Symington who has donated a bottle of D67 from the family's private cellar.

The final line up (and what a line up!) is listed on the first page.

I will email/PM tomorrow(Ish) with final joining instructions - there are a few of you who have not given me your menu choices (first and mains) PLEASE DO SO NOW. B&F need to know about a week in advance as they need to get the food in.

Tony - is it a Dow Bomfin?

First post updated with contributors

Julian - Please can we have a placemat for the Vintage Ports (and Crusted) only - there will not be enough glasses. The colhietas will be on a separate table to "free pour" after the judging has been done.

Apart from the NN, D67 and a couple of Colheitas (which are supplied at no cost) the bottles are of a similar cost so if you are supplying a bottle there will be no cost for the port (just the meal). For those not bringing a bottle, you will need to make a contribution towards the costs - I will contact you by email /PM with details.

MIke - I do not know - I have not seen the bottle.

Tony - is it a Dow Bomfin?
It was described to me as "Dow 1967". It's a family bottling made for the birth of one of the children - whether it's Bomfim, Senhora da Ribeira or a blend we may never know or may - if we're lucky - find out from the bottle or cork.

Failing that, you will be able to ask the man who made it when you have dinner with him at the Factory House on 21st June.

Placemats updated. There is still a mystery person labelled ‘Industry Guest’. Do we yet know more?

I was hoping a representative of the Symington family would attend. Sadly not to be.

There should only be the 14 listed at the top of the thread.

Menu - for me:

Duck liver pate
Sirloin steak medium rare
w. Peppercorn sauce

Alex has mooted the idea of an 'on after' to watch the election results come in, for which we might need:

Port - perhaps those odd non-vintage bottles of little cost one sometimes acquires at auction that were supposed to have been drunk decades ago, yet can sometimes surprise..
Cheese - I can put a modest lump of Stichelton on the table - anyone else fancy a trip to Neal's Yard - or similar?
Other nibbles - suggestions?

Hi Tony, sorry for my late reply. Can I please order the roast goat's cheese with smoked almonds, watercress and beetroot as a starter and the grilled gammon steak with gooseberry ketchup and chips as main. Thank you!

There's a Paxton & Whitfield in Jermyn Street that carries a great range of cheese. I'll get some St Bartholomew - a hard cheese from a creamery a few miles away from home.

Tony: I believe that the placemats are all correct. Please check carefully (Ports, People, crediting of latter with former), and let me know. Thank you.

Thank you for the placemats

Every thing is good at the moment. B&F are getting some more glasses. I'll be there midday to decant.

The only issue is that they do not do the creamed spinach any more.

Barring surprises I can probably make it down early to lend a paw - fancy lunch?

Could not deliver the Ck67 and Mz67 yesterday to The B&F due to police checking for evidence after the terrorist attack. Currently stored at work in a cuboard. Will try today again. Since I am not yet allowed to to vote here I will refrain from watching the election results.

Is there any reason to suspect that we might not be able to access the B&F on Thursday evening?

Because the result of Thursday’s election isn’t clear in advance, I will need to return to the office in time for the 10pm exit polls. So, for me please, slightly small pours.

Will you be working all night? Tom and I are likely to be at the other end of Regent Street from your office for most of the night if you need a break and a booster glass.

We may have to use Borough (or Southwark) tube stations and come up from the south end of Redcross Way, but the B&F is open.

Does that mean that there’s an error, which should be corrected? Or that you have printed and it’s too late? Or, confusingly, both?

Despite a little nervousness, the bookies are still offering odds of 9/1 on a Labour minority win (and 16/1 on a Labour majority) so taking into account the risk of a 'close run thing' requiring extended office presence, I'd guess there's a 75% chance you'll be stood down by 10.30 - so why not plan for that eventuality?

The B&L is now open again and I will deliver the CK67 and Mz67 tonight. Still access is only available via Union Street I understand.

The last projection that I saw had the Conservatives with the largest number of seats, but 16 short of a majority. They could, possibly, run a minority government but it would be unstable and fractious. A Labour / SNP coalition would still be 19 short of a majority. This could be an interesting time for the Northern Irish and Welsh parties…
