Weekend at Bern's

Post by Chris Doty »

Bern's Steakhouse is legend in the American wineo community. http://www.bernssteakhouse.com/

Owing to its eccentric owner (a man after my own heart!) their wine list is more than worth the trip and seems especially rich in mispriced port.

A reasonable plan would be to arrive in Tampa for dinner on Friday, departing on Sunday. Exactly when, we make this trip...is unclear.

Feel free to suggest dates or other 'must see' sites in Tampa, etc.

Also, I would be happy to put the hurt on all you herbs over some 36 hole Pirates Cove minigolf (before, during, and/or after the consumption of port).

PLAY LIKE A CHAMPION

ps - the proximity to the Caymans gives me some hope that an old friend may be persuaded to fill up the tank of his G6...

..and as you sheepish jabrons dither and lurk, more historic bottles are made extinct...

Quite a list! And yes, some of the prices are more retail-level than restaurant-level. Someone knowledgeable could have quite a weekend at a not-outrageous price.

My preference would be to primarily go bargain hunting, with one or two splurge bottles to end the evening.
