Johnny is joining us for a tasting in September. Why don't we ask him then (perhaps at around 21:30?) if he would like to join us for a full vertical of Vesuvio five months hence?
Is he? Which one?

Wonderful. Is this the first announcement of his attendance or did I miss it?

His initials have been on the attendee list for a few weeks and Julian posted a "doff hat" following receipt of the contribution of 2 x Graham 1952 SHTs. In other words, you missed it.

Right idea, wrong tasting. This is the Vesuvio thread; you’re thinking of the E2>V event.

Edit: I see from earlier posts than somebody knew that.

Not such a clever plan. It’ll be 21:30 for JADS, perhaps making him more willing to accept such a suggestion. But it will also be 21:30 for us, perhaps making us more forgetful.

Having attended my first :tpf: tasting last night I would love to sign up as a reserve for the Vesuvio vertical next February if I may. Not sure f the procedure, so I hope this note suffices. I am a big fan of the Quinta, but have only had the chance to taste the 94, 95 and 97 so would love the opportunity to taste the rest. Please let me know nearer the time if there are any spots available.

Many thanks.

Regret I will not be able to attend, but the date is memorable because my pub once had seven regulars who shared that birthday.

And here's a little naval song about it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UdgH-Oj3CqU

Hello, I've been new here for almost a year now :P However I have never attended any of your tastings.
Just wondering if I could be included in the reserve list for the Quinta do Vesuvio Vertical on the 24th of February . I haven't tried many Vesuvios but I am quite keen to learn more of their style. I can bring along either the 2012 or 2013 vintage or a bottle from the mid 90's.
Many thanks!

Hello and welcome to :tpf:.

Usually the answer would be yes. But this Vesuvio tasting is already full (we limit to 14 people, so that everybody gets at least 5cl), and there are already four reserves (see the first post). Perhaps you could join us at a different event?

Feel free to come along to one of our informal events. These are often with a smaller number of people so more of a chance to chat and see how you feel about the group. The theme is often a straightforward "Bring a bottle of port to share with other port lovers".

We love to welcome new attendees. It keeps the conversations new and interesting.

Has anyone spoken with Johnny to see whether he is available to join us for this tasting?
