The Ramos Pinto is a heavy hitter. I would request we swap the Sandeman and the RP.

Was keeping families together: could Offley also be swapped? With what?

No, if you're keeping families together then you are proposing the best arrangement possible.

If you're looking to have roughly equal qualities in each flight then I recommend swapping Sandeman and RP.

Edited before Tapatalk told me of your post: I meant to ask whether Offley could move with Sandeman.

I'm aiming to get to the B&F for 1600. Is anyone else coming early to help with set-up?

Done, but to keep Sandeman with Offley the Churchill is moving with the Ramos Pinto. Hence we now have:
    • Cálem;
    • M Gonzalez;
    • J. H. Andresen;
    • Noval;
    • Offley Boa Vista;
    • Sandeman;
    • Churchill;
    • Ramos Pinto;
    • Martinez;
    • Gould Campbell;
    • Quarles Harris;
    • Smith Woodhouse;
    • Dow;
    • Graham;
    • Warre;
    • Taylor;
    • Fonseca.
Can this new flighting be further improved?

I will also be getting there at about 2pm, so accept both offers. Thank you.

Charles: will you be able to print? (If so, don’t print from the usual link unless you are absolutely utterly certain that you won’t have caching problems. Near the time either I’ll create a new link, or will email you what to print.)

Decanting Times

When should the Ports be decanted?

For some there is little choice. Those delivered in advance to the B&F will be decanted soon after 2pm. That will be rather late for those starting at 4¾pm, but should be satisfactory by 7pm.

We want to pre-pour by 4¾pm, so folks arriving in their own good delayed time with bottles, whether or not double-decanted, would be inconvenient (Tom will be marginally later than this, having promised to bring his Sandeman and Gould Campbell by 5pm). But some people might be able to double-decant in the morning, or even the night before, and bring their bottles at lunch. E.g., I have Axel’s Andresen, Ramos Pinto, and Noval, and my Martinez and Churchill. Mike will be arriving in time for pre-pouring with Fonseca and Offley; and likewise Charles with Dow and Quarles Harris. These eleven could be decanted in the morning, or even the night before.

When should they be decanted?

I will decant the Fonseca the morning before (so around 32 hours in advance), and the Offley on the morning of the event.

I will decant the D at about 7am in the morning unless others have strong views? For the QH I could either do 7am or 2pm, I am inclined to the 7am option, any thoughts?

Failing contrary consensus, I will decant the Andresen, Ramos Pinto, Noval, Martinez and Churchill between 9am and 10am on the morning of the event.

Separately, TN threads will be created in advance. Please could comments on decanting — when done, state of cork, colour, nose, state of (very small) quality-control sample — go in those threads.

Sadly due to new work requirements I cannot take as planned the afternoon off and join you. :roll:
Delivered both bts (Ca and T) yesterday to the Boot&Flogger and left with the manager. Please open both at arrival (as early as possible) and if possible decant the Ca and the T ~ 4:30PM.

Having now found myself free on this day, and having checked with Julian that there is room, I would like to join this 85 horizontal tasting if I may? I am afraid I don't have an 85 to contribute (and also see that there has been a lot of pain agreeing on the ports), but I am happy to adopt/contribute or purchase a bottle? Please get in touch if you have a bottle for adoption or let me know what contribution is required.

I can be there from 2pm so i am more than happy to be there early to help with the set up.

On the food front.... No starter or dessert for me thank you, but could I please order a bangers and mash main course.

Please get in touch if there is anything else I need to do or I can help with.

Added to food order. Only one missing — you know who you are, please do it.

Others: please verify that you are getting what you think you ordered.

Simon: set-up, yes please.

With 12 of us, we could stretch to an extra bottle. Who has something to hand that isn’t already coming?

Minor admin: where is the Port?

With JDAW:
• J. H. Andresen (AP);
• Churchill (JDAW);
• Ramos Pinto (AP);
• Noval (AP);
• Martinez (JDAW);

At B&F:
• Cálem (WPS);
• Taylor (WPS);
• M Gonzalez (BMHR) (“will be there on Tuesday next week in an undecanted bottle ready for your arrival on Wednesday”);

Arriving already decanted:
• Gould Campbell (THRA);
• Sandeman (THRA);
• Offley Boa Vista (MPM);
• Fonseca (MPM);
• Quarles Harris (CPR);
• Dow (CPR);
• Graham (AHB);

?
• Smith Woodhouse (IDJ);
• Warre (IDJ).

Failing objection that is both cogent and soon, excellent, thank you.

It necessitates a slight re-flighting:
    • Cálem;
    • M Gonzalez;
    • Delaforce;
    • J. H. Andresen;
    • Noval;
    • Offley Boa Vista;
    • Churchill;
    • Sandeman;
    • Martinez;
    • Gould Campbell;
    • Quarles Harris;
    • Smith Woodhouse;
    • Ramos Pinto;
    • Taylor;
    • Fonseca;
    • Dow;
    • Graham;
    • Warre.
Objections?

Much that is sought is not found. Was the “sought” “confirmation” forthcoming?
