I want to keep Gonzalez M, but no objection to dropping Df and Mg.

Ok, here are my two cents: As the 85s are not too expensive and do have a certain amount of risk of corc and (heavy) VA, why dont we keep all in the tasting and replace the faulty bottles after opening with the reserves (Reserves are the producers who are in discussion to be dropped).

Therefore I would suggest not to drop any yet, but to keep them all in and open them in the preferred list.

Latest status.

We are 3 weeks away, I thought I'd try and summarise the current plan:
- 10 attendees
- 19 bottles coming
- 15 being opened initially
- 4 being retained as backups for faulty bottles
- DRT can't make it, so I'm providing Fonseca, I have volunteered WPS to bring Taylor
- I think we still need to work out how BMHR's bottle gets to the B&F
- feel free to recruit more attendees

Does this seem correct?

I assume I can leave a suitably labelled bottle at B&F for you at some stage in next 2 weeks?

Axel has sent RP = Ramos Pinto; A = Andresen; N = Noval. Ben is delivering MG = Gonzalez M. To these four we are committed.

I have in Streatham magnums of T = Taylor and F = Fonseca; Mike is bringing F = Fonseca single; Wolfgang is bringing T = Taylor single. That takes the total to ten bottles volume.

People: please choose another five bottles. Not ten, not fifteen, just five. Favourite choices from amongst that will be selected.

Please contribute to the draft of the food order by posting your desires in this thread, ideally after perusing the menu of the Boot & Flogger.

Potted shrimps followed by steak black and blue and a side of spinach please

Re the Port I would like to include Smith Woodhouse, Gould Campbell, Offley and Sandeman if possible. It would also seem a shame not to have Graham, Warre and Dow attend, perhaps drop the single T and F?

I move to stretch this to 6 and include all Symington bottles.

• Now-Symington, or then-Symington?
• What if there were a consensus in favour of some other bottles (note that Sandeman and Offley have been suggested by Charles). Would you then want as many Symingtons as possible, or would that break the completeness and your preference would then substantially change?

My sequence would be:

Grahams (cant do the tasting without as this is my all-time-No.2 85)
Warre
Dow
SWC
QH
GC

Please do definitely include as many of those as possible.

Thanks

So we're not adopting Axel's idea of bring whatever and open more if we find faulty bottles?

We are substantially over-provisioned. Substantially. We actually clear a bottle each on a school night. For ten people we are bringing 15 (Axel wants 16), a fair fraction from good names.

I'd prefer we didn't open magnums - opening T and F mags uses up 4 bottles of slots where we could try other shippers. So far there seems to be consensus on RP, A, N, MG, T, F, G, D, W (which is 9 bottles). Charles's suggestion of SW, GC, O, S also seem good to me, that's 13. I'd be happy with that lot and there are room for a couple more (assuming no mags).

ALSO - could the first post be updated to reflect actual start time? I've lost track of the discussion. How many flights are there? I need to book a flight...
