Something has appeared in my work diary that suggests I might not make this. Leave it with me - things could move around.

Were you thinking of collating a dinner pre-order, or is the intention to go with the flow on the day?

Let’s collate. I’ll assemble. Let’s assume that www.jdawiseman.com/2015/20150515_Boot_a ... u_2014.pdf is still the current menu — an update will be sought.

JDAW:
Chicken liver pâté with toast;
Gammon, egg and chips with black pudding.

I think this is the latest menu, some minor changes, most notably the sides.

Potted shrimps to start
Grilled scallops and bacon with tiger prawns and spring onion - NO CHILLI PLEASE

Clearly I am turning into a girl and will therefore need to bring some pink port to go with my girly meat-free diet.

I’ve telephoned, and the menu has just changed. Latest at www.jdawiseman.com/2015/20150714_BootFl ... 201507.pdf.

In that case I'll change the buttered carrots to Peas and beans with mint lemon and butter.

Mike: no buttered carrots on July 2015 menu. Alternative?

Edit: draft food order.

Has anyone had either the game pie or the cold meat selection? I am contemplating one of these but my eye is drawn back repeatedly to the steak.

Once, though I can’t find evidence of that in the old food orders. But I recall the game pie being bland.

Bland is no good. Life is a sea of blandness. This oasis of tastiness shall not be infected with the bland. I shall have the steak, black and blue with the Paris thingummy butter. No starter.

The food order seems to be complete. On Thursday it will be conveyed to the hostelry.

† Careful checking by somebody would be welcome. On which subject, I have informed the B&F of the spelling error in the menu.

The only error I can see is the missed opportunity to retain the egg in Ian"s order and transfer it to your plate.

At the correct moment tilt your head to one side and look handsomely forlorn.

I will print the placemats (as glasses pages are on US Legal = 8½″×14″).

A disgraceful slur. Derek'll 'ave you for that, except he won't be there. Neither will I. Bugger.
