People gathered in the Bung Hole to do the obvious. There was a chance of being joined by a newbie, to sample his TV64, but he was a no-show.

1985 Calem
Re: 1985 Calem
Lighter than g83/85. Maybe 65%. Not very nice on the nose, attributed to bottle stink. 1hr later it had opened up. Sweet and clingy round the mouth. Figs and tangy fruit detected. Average, wouldn't look out for it specifically.

Re: 1985 Calem
Deep burnt red in colour with a rose rim; 75% opaque. Plastic slightly oxidised nose and some pronounced alcohol. Soft entry, restrained palate presence with lots of heat and subdued fruit. Plenty of softened tannins overwhelming the light fruit and a slight VA flavour which shows on the light-bodied palate. Sour fruit aftertaste that lasts well and becomes sweeter the longer it goes on. An acceptable port that is not in the same class as the other bottles drunk this evening. 81/100. Decanted 1 hour.
