T70: red, 40% opaque. Nose had stinky mushrooms, and paint. Taste better. Sweet, candy-sugar, heat late palate. No fruit. Lighter than a T70 should be. Corked? At least some others thought not.

Clear rim, rust red going to ruby core. Some raisin and prune on the nose. On the palate a bit muted, light and restrained. Fruit not so much in evidence and this did not hit the same heights as other T70s have before. 88 pts.

Mature in appearance, but distinctly red in tone; 40% opaque. Unpleasant on the nose, smelling of plasticizer and antiseptic. The plasticizer flavours also come through on the palate - really not pleasant. There is a dry fruit finish but this is a bottle that is really not right.

2 hours later the plasticizer nose had vanashed; the palate more fruit dominated with strong and assertive acidity, a concentrated finish. Not a typical bottle of Taylor 1970, but passable. 87/100. 22-Mar-13. Decanted 5 hours.
