1976 Quinta dos Malvedos VP

Post by Lady Roots »

Tasted some time ago in the beautiful quinta dos Malvedos. You'll get the Graham's 77 TN as a gift ;-)
Quinta dos Malvedos 1976 VP
Almost tawny coloured. Relatively simple, but elegant port with aromas of dried red fruit, vigs, brown sugar, leather, smookey/tar tones and no tannins left. A bit hot in the finish. Should be drunk now! (or a few years ago).

Graham's 77 VP
Red with a brownish hue. Much more complex and multilayered than the '76. Very compact and warm port, aromas of plums, black currants, dried cherries, spicess and mint nicely integrated with tones of coffee, leather and milk chocolate. Fresh almonds and sweet flowers at the long finish. Firm tannins and slightly alcoholic, but not a problem.
