Fairly dark (though not as dark and tannic as the 1980). Soft and very drinkable with a slight bitter aftertaste.

Re: 1983 Quarles Harris Vintage Port
Deeply coloured, a nice red and with an opaque centre. Very dusty on the nose, full of brambles and fruit bit also with quite a sharp edge. Hollow in the mouth and then very acidic. The mid-palate is quite weak, sweetness but not much else although some tannins remain. Extremely hot aftertaste, quite generous in flavour but no fruit. 82/100.
Top Ports in 2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
2025: Quevedo 1972 Colheita, b.2024. Just as good as Niepoort 1900!

Again, I managed to take no notes on this beyond noting its colour to be dark red and that it reminded me a little of the Malvedos 1987.
