2001 Taylor Vargellas

From bottle.

+90 minutes

This is a bit disappointing. Under-decanting mutes what little there is of the body to it. Hot. Left, without much hope, in a bottle in the 'fridge.

Aha! There's something there. Cherries and marzipan on nose. Light fruity port palate, with only playful references to darker fruits. Short but not unattractive fruit finish. No spice to it.

On this showing, not a classic wine by Taylor SQVP standards, but it is quaffable. One to decant for a decent length of time, but then drink up.
