1980 Graham

Post by winesecretary »

4 hour decant. Splendid dark rich red, little sign of age. Richly fruited nose, too, with an attractive hint of cherry drops. In the mouth full and tannic.
Very pronounced cherries mid-palate. Tannins and fruit both last to the end. Splendid stuff, if atypical for Graham, but needs another decade before revisiting, or alternatively a 24 hour decant.

Consumed after dinner, between four, 2/10/20. One of those present said it was the best port she had ever drunk (and she's had quite a few good bottles with me over the last 15 years).
