2018 Kopke Sao Luiz

Post by Alex Bridgeman »

This is a real stunner. A huge Port, with massive fruit, immense acidity and big tannins. The fruit is sweet and pure with incredible intensity; it's a beauty to drink now but will be just stunning to drink in 50 years time bu those lucky enough to own some at the time. I loved this wine, it's a real success for the wine maker, Carlos Alves. (Tasted over 5 days to allow the wine to show all its various components.) 93-95/100.
Top Ports in 2023: Taylor 1896 Colheita, b. 2021. A perfect Port.

2024: Niepoort 1900 Colheita, b.1971. A near perfect Port.
