Very dark ruby red wine which provided a wonderfully rich coating of the glass. I was surprised that the first aroma I picked up was dark chocolate, followed by figs, spices (thinking of those used around Christmas) and sweet dark red fruit. On the palate this profile was reversed, with the tannins and acidity being on the medium to low side. Other tastes included leather, raisins and dried cherries. The finish was remarkably long, with the red fruit and dark chocolate being dominant. This was a fantastic Port - I look forward to trying another ca. 10 years from now.
Enjoyed on 1/8/20. The bottle was decanted and its contents drunk immediately.
