Notes: The cork simply described this as a 2013 Crusted so the Symingtons may have been hedging their bets as to which shipper's name under which it would be sold! Very little sediment. Opaque purple fading to reddish purple. A very good nose. Concentrated dark fruits. Perhaps blackcurrants or cassis? In the mouth, quite sweet. A little fruit. Not very concentrated. Limited acidity and tannins. A gentle aftertaste. For £10 good value for money but reminds me more of a filtered LBV than a blended vintage.

* A Note on Ratings
My rating system attempts to answer the question “is this a good Port?” one of three ways: N—No; P—Possibly; or C—Certainly. Ports generally are rated against others of their category. Therefore, a Ruby Port which I rate as C for Certainly good, might not be as good as a Vintage Port which receives the same rating. I sometimes modify my rating with a plus or minus indicating that the Port is better or worse than might be expected for this category.
