2015 Niepoort

From half bottle.

Popped and poured for a guest to have something with the cheese. The cheese was largely ignored while the glass of port was consumed.

Entirely opaque, red rim.

Nose of poached pears, almost eau de vie de poire william.

Very vinous wine, exuberant blackcurrant flavours, like a supercharged American cabernet sauvignon, complete with the Napa mint. Tannins present but fine-grained and not unattractive.

Long, drying finish. Positively refreshing. Like the 2017 this is lovely to drink now, but will surely age happily.

+ 24 hours - very similar to day before, no fading of the fruit.

Consumed 24/6/20 & 25/6/20

Good to hear as I have a dozen bottles!

Have you tasted the 2015 Bioma?

@ H_Sterling - you have yourself a fine port IMHO.

I have not tasted the 2015 Bioma. But I do have 3 bottles...

The 2015 Bioma was absolutely fantastic when I tried it on release: I rated it right up there with the very best Vintage Ports I have tried. I am studiously attempting to avoid any of my Biomas, though, since I think they will have fantastic longevity.

Yup, same here - my 2015 Bioma is staying put for another 2 decades at least!
